Ghana's Kwadwo Opoku named in CONCACAF Champions League team of the week

Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Opoku has been named in Sofascore's CONCACAF Champions League team of the week for his wonderful performance against Philadelphia Union

The former Attram De Visser Academy forward registered his name on the scoresheet to help Los Angeles FC secure qualification to the CONCACAF Champions League final.

Opoku was a second half substitute as his outfit cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Philadelphia Union at the BMO stadium to book a place in the final.

The 21-year-old was introduced in the 66th minute mark, replacing Mateusz Bogusz and bagged his sides second goal of the game.

Timothy Tillman gave LAFC an early lead in the first half before red-hot forward Dennis Bouanga sealed victory in the final minute. The Banc of California outfit won the series 4-1 on aggregate.

Los Angeles will face the winner of Liga MX’s Tigres UANL and Club León in the Cup competition final.

Opoku has been key in his outfit qualification to the final, scoring two goals in six matches.

In the MLS, the Ghanaian winger has scored a goal in eight matches for Los Angeles-based franchise.

Opoku was part of the squad that made history by winning LAFC's first-ever MLS title.
