Ghana’s Kwasi Appiah on target as AFC Wimbledon whip West Ham 4-2 in FA Cup

Ghana striker Kwasi Appiah displayed a stunning performance to help League One side AFC Wimbledon register a magnificent win over Premier League side West Ham United.

Appiah’s opener was the first of four goals the lower tier side scored to hand the elite side a 4-2 defeat to progress to the 5th round.

The Dons, bottom of the third tier of English football, surged into a 3-0 lead against the Premier League side courtesy of Kwesi Appiah’s 34th minute strike.

Scott Wagstaff grabbed a brace to give the home side a 3-0 lead before the break.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini made a triple substitution at the break in an attempt to get back into the game and saw two of his changes – Lucas Perez and Felipe Anderson – score to make it 3-2.

But an 88th minute strike by Sibbick cemented the win for the home side as they progress to the next phase of the competition.

Appiah last played for Ghana at the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea where he guided Ghana to pick silver at the tournament.
