Ghanaian striker Nathan Opoku expressed his disappointment as his club OH Leuven missed out on the Belgian Pro League Championship playoffs despite winning their final match against Standard Liege 3-2 on Sunday.

Opoku, who scored the opener in the match, said after the game, "We did well in the last three games. We fought until the last minute, but narrowly missed qualifying for the playoffs."

Opoku's goal in the 43rd minute helped OH Leuven take a slim lead at halftime. Although Standard Liege managed to level the game in the second half, OH Leuven regained control with a brace from Jon Dagur.

Despite Standard Liege scoring a second consolation goal, they were unable to come back, and OH Leuven won 3-2.

Opoku's latest goal takes his tally to three goals and one assist in seven appearances in the Belgian Pro League. His impressive form has helped him become an essential player for OH Leuven, despite the team missing out on the playoffs.
