Ghana international Patrick Twumasi has joined his teammates at Deportivo Alaves after renewing his marriage vow to his wife in his native country.

The 24-year-old was excused by the club to commemorate the fifth wedding anniversary to his wife Lydia Mould Twumasi.

The pair re-ignited their union at a colourful ceremony in the Ghanaian capital, Accra last weekend

The lanky striker returned to group training ahead of the side's La Liga clash against Valencia at the Meditarrion.

Twumasi joined Deportivo Alavés on a four-year deal in the summer from Astana.

He joined the Latvian Higher League club Spartaks Jūrmala from Red Bull Ghana prior to the 2012 Latvian Higher League season.

Soon he established himself as a first team player, scoring 10 goals in 22 league appearances and becoming the team's top scorer and division's seventh top scorer of the championship.

In July 2013, Patrick joined the Kazakhstan Premier League club FC Astana on loan from Spartaks Jūrmala. He scored six goals in 11 matches during the loan spell and later returned to Spartaks Jūrmala.

He was signed permanently by FC Astana prior to the 2015 season, despite attracting interests from other European clubs.

He was called up to the senior national team of Ghana by coach Avram Grant for a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius in June 2016.
