Ghana's Richard Ofori ruled out of Orlando Pirates clash against Sundowns, set for another month spell on the sidelines

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori has been ruled out of Orlando Pirates clash against Mamelodi Sundowns after failing to recover in time.

Ofori, who missed the 2022 World Cup due to injury is expected to sit out for another month on the sidelines.

He will not be in action today, December 30, when his side take on Mamelodi Sundowns following the resumption of the South African league.

Giving an update on Ofori’s injury, the club wrote, "Also on the mend is goalkeeper Richard Ofori facing up to a further month on the sidelines following a knee injury that ruled him out of the FIFA World Cup,"

The Ghana international has been struggling with a knee injury that has affected his campaign this season.

Ofori has played ten games this season, keeping five clean sheets. He also made three appearances in the MTN 8 as Orlando Pirates won the tournament.

Despite his injury troubles this season, the 29-year-old has been linked with clubs abroad with teams in Saudi Arabia interested in his services.

Ofori lost his number one spot at the national team to Jojo Wollacot due to injury.
