Ghana's Wahab Ackwei sent off in Rio Grande Valley FC's draw with Louisville City FC

In a dramatic clash between Rio Grande Valley and Louisville City FC in the USL Championship, emotions ran high as Rio Grande's formidable defender, Wahab Ackwei, found himself facing an unexpected exit.

The match ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Lynn Family Stadium.

The head-to-head record for the teams before the game was Louisville City FC one win, Rio Grande Valley FC no wins, and no draws.

Wahab Ackwei started the game alongside Erik Pimentel and skipper Juan Cabezas.

Rio Grande Valley FC dominated possession while Louisville City FC had more shots on goal.

Dylan Mares's left footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner gave Louisville City the lead. Mares goal was assisted by Manny Perez with a through ball following a set piece situation.

Juan Cabezas made it 1-1 with a header from the centre of the box to the top left corner.

The away side scored their second goal in the 72nd minute through Elijah Wynder. Juan Galindrez equalized in the 80th minute for the home side.

In added time Wahab Ackwei was shown the red card for violent conduct.
