Ghana’s world cup group is manageable but tricky and dangerous – Agyemang Badu

Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is backing Ghana to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On Thursday, CAF held the African draw for the qualifiers at a ceremony in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

At the end of the draw, Ghana was drawn in Group A with Mali, Chad, Comoros, Madagascar, and the Central African Republic.

Speaking to Akoma FM today on the draw, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu described the group of Ghana as manageable.

However, he warns that the group is also tricky and dangerous, stressing that the Black Stars must take all games seriously.

“Our World Cup Group is manageable on paper but tricky and dangerous in reality. We have fallen behind the pecking order. We are no more a powerhouse in African football. We need to accept that we have struggled against all those teams in the group apart from Chad.

“We must hope for a good season and playing time for our players so that it can translate into their performance for the national team. The Coach must create competition in the team to eliminate any complacency.

“He must establish total discipline in the team and not tolerate any egoistic behaviours. I am sure we can qualify if we do the right things,” Emmanuel Agyemang Badu said.

Ghana will commence the journey of qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup later this year in November.
