Ghana midfielder Yaw Yeboah has shared his excitement after helping Columbus Crew to beat FC Cincinnati to clinch the MLS Eastern Conference title at the weekend.

The former Black Meteors captain started and played 76 minutes in the final, contributing significantly towards the team’s success.

Columbus Crew came from behind to snatch an important 3-2 victory after extra time to annex the title at the TQL Stadium.

"God did. MLS Eastern Conference champions 2023. I'm proud to be part of this memorable journey," wrote Yeboah on Instagram.

Cincinnati took the lead through Brandon Vazquez and MVP Luciano Acosta in the first half.

But Columbus staged a comeback to level pegging with 15 minutes to full time following Alvas Powell's own goal and a brilliant finish from Diego Rossi, forcing the game to extra time.

Columbus Crew eventually emerged as winners following a strike from Christian Ramirez in the extra time and will face Los Angeles FC in the final of the 2023 Major League Soccer.

Yeboah could join the likes of Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful, and more recently Latif Blessing and Kwadwo Opoku as MLS Champions if Crew beat holders LAFC in the final.
