Ghana defender, Gideon Mensah has reacted to making an injury return for AJ Auxerre in the French Ligue 1.
Auxerre hosted Lille at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps on Saturday afternoon.
Mensah came off in the 26th minute of Auxerre’s fixture against Troyes after the international break and looked to be out for long after using crutches.
However, the enterprising left-back was in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game. After 90 minutes of football, the game ended 1-1.
The results leave Mensah and his side at 14th on the league log with 33 points.
After the game, Gideon Mensah took to his official Twitter page to express his excitement. "Happy to be back playing & a very crucial point against @LOSC_EN. Onto the next one!" he tweeted
The 24-year-old returned to training with his teammates earlier this week and felt no setback leading to his involvement against Lille.
On 12 August 2022, Gideon Mensah signed a three-year contract with Auxerre.
