Giggs urges Bale Real stay

Published on: 18 June 2018

Wales boss Ryan Giggs believes forward Gareth Bale should continue to ply his trade in Spain with Real Madrid despite speculation about his future.

Bale has been linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of former club Tottenham and Manchester United thought to be interested in making a move for the Welshman this summer.

It has not all been plain sailing for Bale this season, with injuries and inconsistent form raising speculation around his future at Los Blancos.

However Giggs feels Bale is in the perfect surroundings at the Santiago Bernabeu and claims Wales' superstar should remain with the La Liga giants.

He said: "Yes. I went to see him against PSG [in the Champions League last-16].

"When you go there the aura around the club, there are only a handful of clubs who have got that.

"So, of course, you want to stay there. He's won three Champions League titles, the proof is in that.

"When you are at clubs like that you are always going to win things."

Real are 4/6 to win the Champions League this season, while arch rivals Barcelona are 12121/1 to claim the European crown this term.
