Girona fullback Carles Planas insists everyone is proud of Pablo Maffeo's performance in defeat to Barcelona.
Maffeo, on-loan from Manchester City, performed an impressive man-marking job on Barca star Leo Messi.
Some in the Spanish media have criticised the tactics of Girona coach Pablo Machin, but Planas dismissed them after training yesterday.
"Inwardly it was recently discussed, it was decided it was a strategy to stop the best player in the world," said Planas. "In the football world there is nothing written and each has their tactics - it was positive for us."
