Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad has turned down a late Black Stars call-up for the four-nation tournament in Japan this month.

Ofori sustained a hamstring injury during the Black Stars training ahead of the Central African Republic [CAR] game.

Danlad was expected to leave the shores of the country today but has turned down the call-up.

Management of the club feels that should Danlad join the Black Stars team, they will only have Kwame Baah for their remaining league matches hence the move to ensure stop him from joining the Black Stars.

Danlad Ibrahim has represented Ghana at the U17, U20, and U23 level before earning a call-up for the first time to the Black Stars in 2021.

He has made 20 appearances in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season for Asante Kotoko.

The 2022 Kirin Cup is scheduled to be the 21st edition of the international friendly football tournament which will be played in Japan between 10 and 14 June with the participation of four teams: Japan, Chile, Ghana, and Tunisia.
