Goalkeeper Rubén Blanco wins Celta Vigo player of the month award ahead of Ghana’s Joseph Aidoo

Spanish goalkeeper, Rubén Blanco has been awarded as the Celta Vigo player of the month for September ahead of Ghanaian international Joseph Aidoo who equally impressed in the month under review.

The Black Stars center-back has been outstanding for the Sky Blues since joining in the summer transfer window from Belgian side KRC Genk.

He continued his fine form into September where he featured against teams including Granada, Atletico Madrid, Espanyol, and Eibar.

Aidoo proved to be pivotal at the back in those matches, even though they lost some crucial points.

He was nominated for the Estrella Galicia Player award for the months of August and September together with goalkeeper Rubén Blanco and Fran Beltrán.

At the end of voting by the club’s supporters, Rubén Blanco has taken the accolade after amassing 45% of the votes. Joseph Aidoo came in second with 35% of the votes whiles Fran Beltrán secured 20% of the votes.
