Ghana's Sports Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, delivered a stern message in Parliament regarding the performance of the Black Stars in three major tournaments, branding it as 'not acceptable.'

Addressing the nation's lawmakers, Hon. Ussif expressed dissatisfaction over the team's disappointing showings in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2022 World Cup, and the recent Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.

Despite substantial investments from the Government, the Minister highlighted persistent underperformance, prompting scrutiny over the team's direction.

"The Black Stars' performance in the last three major tournaments, thus, 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and 2023 AFCON in Cote D' Ivorie, where Ghana exited at the group stages of all three tournaments, notwithstanding Government's continuous huge investment in the team is not acceptable," he said.

Ghana exited the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the group stage with two points, exited the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with one point and the 2022 World Cup with three points.
