GPL giants Kotoko and Hearts pay tribute to Junior Agogo

Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak have taken to their official twitter pages to pay tribute to ex-Black Stars attacker Junior Agogo who passed away in the early hours of Thursday, August 22, 2019.

News of the striker’s death shocked many this morning with the rest of the world joining Ghana to mourn her very own.

According to reports, Junior Agogo kicked the bucket after battling with a sickness in the past year.

Though he had earlier made progress as far as recovery is concerned, he, unfortunately, lost his life today at age 40.

In a post of the Phobians twitter handle, they shared, “Hearts of Oak is disheartened to learn about the passing of former Ghana striker Junior Agogo.

“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Agogo’s family at this sad time.

"Rest in peace, Junior”.

On their part, Kotoko also shared, “We are saddened to learn of the death of former Black Stars striker, Junior Agogo. We extend our condolences to his family at this extremely difficult time”.

Agogo impressed for the Black Stars during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations which was hosted here Ghana. Having played the national team between 2006 and 2009, he netted 3 AFCON goals for the Stars.
