'Grandpa' Yaya Looking to Inspire Manchester City's Younger Stars Ahead of End of Season

Yaya Toure is labeled 'Grandpa' by Pep Guardiola as he reaches 34-years-old a week before the season ends. He seems to find the funny side of it as he looks to pass on his experience to the younger generation of superstars at Manchester City.

It's good to keep going and set an example to the younger players, said the former Barca star, as reportedby theMirror.

I say to them all the time at training ˜when I was younger like you, I carried on playing, game after game.

They say no and I say ˜look at me in 2010-11, I was playing all the games non-stop.

Even if the manager said to me to have a rest, I said no. That's positive for the group, they need to keep going. If we want to win silverware this year, or maybe two trophies, we have to continue playing like this, and winning.

They call me uncle, and that just makes me want to beat them in training, he smiled.

Sometimes when I'm training and I'm in front of them, I say ˜uncle's in front, you need to follow me or pass to me.

"But it's fine, it's all good. I have a lot of respect for the team.

The atmosphere is fantastic at the moment and that's why you see the team winning.

"We have that winning mentality and the team is starting to get it now. We are in a good moment and we want to continue like this.

The Blues play Stoke City on Wednesdaynight at the Etihad Stadiumas they look to leapfrog rivals Spurs vying for 2nd in the league.
