Great Olympics Chief Executive Officer, Oluboi Commodore, has confirmed there is a proposal on the table to extend the tenure of presidents of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from two terms to three terms.

Per the current regulations, each GFA president will have two tenures of four each making up a total of eight years.

If Congress approves the proposal, it means GFA Presidents will now be doing twelve years, instead of the eight years currently in place.

When asked by Akoma FM to confirm the news, the GFA Statutes Committee Review Member said: "yes, we have proposed to GFA to extend the limit or seal of the tenure of the GFA Presidency from two to three terms.

"This is not new, various statutes by CAF and FIFA make room for extension of tenure to three terms which is why we have proposed the increment.

"It is not anything dramatic since members will have the opportunity to vote for the FA President if they believe in him based on his output.

"When congress affirms this proposal, then it will come to stay. Though other proposals are mandatory and some are not."
