Great Olympics game was keenly contested - Nsoatreman coach Maxwell Konadu

Nsoatreman FC head coach Maxwell Konadu says their Ghana Premier League match week 9 game against Great Olympics was keenly contested.

The Dade boys came from a goal down to beat the Samreboi-based club 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium amid controversy over lack of an arrangement for floodlights.

Darkness was setting in but the floodlight was not being turned on causing over 30 minutes delay in the game in the second half.

Speaking after the game, the former Asante Kotoko gaffer revealed the home side overpowered them in the second half to win the game because the light issues affected them.

“It was a keenly contested game. We took the lead and in the second half Great Olympics came out stronger and equalised. We were in this back and forth until darkness started falling.

“We were complaining to the officials to do something about it. To some extent [the lights issues] affected our concentration a bit.”

Despite the defeat, Nsoatreman are still second on the league table with 16 points - with a game in hand - while Great Olympics are third with 15 points.
