Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has admitted he dreams of one day becoming Arsenal boss. He coaches the Belgium senior squad and is Roberto Martinez's number two, currently balancing the role with his Sky Sports pundit job.
Speaking toL'Equipe, via Mirror Football, Henry said:"Everyone thinks I dream of Arsenal. Yes. But it's just a dream, how could I be pretentious enough to think they'll have me?"
Arsene Wenger's role as Arsenal boss looks more and more likely to be over sooner rather than later, with Arsenal fans voicing their discontent with their league performances year after year, having not won it since their unbeaten season back in 2004.
Henry was a massive part of that title winning season, scoring 30 goals in 37 appearances, winning the golden boot and effectivelyArsenal that golden trophy.
The Frenchman added:"I'm just starting. I'm trying to become a coach. I've no pretence to know where I could go one day. I'll go where I'm wanted.�
Henry's Arsenal career was an exceptional one, spending eight years at the club and scoring 226 goals, followed by two more in his short loan spell in 2012 from MLS side New York Red Bulls.
The 39-year-old will need to gain some valuable experience managing before he is given the option of one day becoming manager of Arsenal Football Club and it's not something that can be completely ruled out.
Some top clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid gambling and giving their former players a chance at management and Arsenal may well decide to do that.
