Heart of Lions changes home venue from Sogakope to Hohoe Sports Stadium

The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League has seen a huge change for one of its teams, Heart of Lions.

Due to pillage from the Akosombo Dam, which has disturbed regular life in the region, the club has been forced to make a radical change: moving their home venue from Sogakope to the Hohoe Sports Stadium.

Since the commencement of the spillage, the Heart of Lions have found themselves in a precarious situation, unable to utilize their customary home grounds in Sogakope. This unfortunate circumstance has not only disrupted their training routines but also cast a shadow of uncertainty over their performance in the league.

The ramifications of this situation have been far-reaching, prompting the intervention of the Ghana Football Association. The association took the unprecedented step of postponing the much-anticipated match week five clash against Hearts of Oak.

The relocation to Hohoe Sports Stadium is temporary.

Heart of Lions is currently 14th on the league table with five points after five games.
