Hearts of Oak's new signing Sulley Muntari has revealed why he joined the club in the transfer window.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder returned to club football after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Phobians on Tuesday.

Muntari played for Liberty Professionals but never featured in the Premier League before leaving for Europe in 2002.

"My son really pushed me to play because he said he wants to see me play again," he told Heartsofoaksc.com.

"What made it easy too was the fact that any time I visited Ghana I always trained with the team and I felt at home already so choosing Hearts was very easy.

"The ambition in Hearts is what I like because it is obvious, they are ambitious."

Muntari featured in three FIFA World Cup tournaments and two Africa Cup of Nations finals. He also won the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Inter Milan in 2010.

Great Olympics are 7th in the league log with 22 points – 11 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko and one behind Hearts of Oak who are in 5th place.
