Hearts of Oak aim to break WAFA home resilience

Accra Hearts of Oak Public Relations Officer, Opare Addo has stressed that they will be gunning to break the home resilience of WAFA in the weekend fixture between the two sides in the Ghana Premier League.

WAFA are yet to lose a premier league game after winning nine and drawing just three at the Sogakofe Park this season whereas their opponents Hearts of Oak are the only team in league not to have tasted defeat on their travels.

However, Opare Addo was defiant about the chances of the current league leaders going into this encounter by declaring their intentions of being the first club to inflict defeat on the Volta region-based club.

“I remember when we were to play against Medeama at Tarkwa not many expected us to win because of our poor record there, but through our hard work and determination, we collected the three points. The same thing happened when we played against Berekum Chelsea at Berekum, where they have not lost a game for almost five seasons, but yet again we did the job and returned with the maximum points.”

“And once again against AshGold at Obuasi, where we’ve not won for close to ten years, but we prevailed through perseverance and fighting spirit, and eventually got the much needed points. That’s the same thing we are going to do to WAFA and even more because this time round our position on the league log and extra motivation from management for this particular game will surely see us through with the maximum points, though the task will not be easy.” He told Reuben Obodai of Happy FM.

Hearts of Oak will hope to pick three points to consolidate their lead on the league table as they are being followed closely by second and third placed teams, Wa All stars and Aduana stars respectively.
