Hearts of Oak allegedly asks head coach Kim Grant to step aside just 3 days to start of GPL

Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak has reportedly asked their first-team head coach Kim Grant to step aside just a few days to the start of the 2019/2020 season.

Information gathered indicates that the board of the Phobians was forced to take the decision following a meeting with the gaffer that ended up badly.

At the said meeting, it is understood that the board proposed that they wanted to bring on-board coach Edward Nii Odoom to work with Kim Grant as he awaits the arrival of his License that will make him eligible to coach in the Premier League.

Kim Grant apparently didn’t like the idea of bringing the Auroras manager to take his place on the interim and rather proposed that the club hired a coach of his choice.

The said coach who is outside the country at the moment will cost Hearts of oak a monthly salary of $2500.

The board did not take it and has rather asked Kim Grant to step aside if he cannot work with coach Edward Nii Odoom.

What that means is that the Phobians will go into the opening weekend of the new Ghana Premier League season without a coach. They are likely to be led by the Auroras coach instead.

This will give the Accra-based cub some days to look for a substantive manager to take over.
