Hearts of Oak Board to decide on Martin Koopman's future this week - Reports

The hierarchy of Hearts of Oak will make a decision on the future of the head coach for the side, Martin Koopman this week, Footballghana.com understand.

The Dutch manager was appointed on a one-year deal prior to the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

However, after five games, the Phobian Club sit 16th on the league log with just five points.

He has so far recorded a win, two defeats and two draws with an outstanding game against Heart of Lions.

Hearts of Oak have scored once this season. Ramos Kashala scored that goal against Nsoatreman FC in their week two fixtures at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Following their goalless drawn game against FC Samartex 1996 over the weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium, Koopman in his post-match interview insisted that he cannot be blamed for the club's lack of goal-scoring prowess.

According to reports, the Board of Directors of the club will make a decision on the future of the 65-year-old this week.

Unconfirmed reports, however, suggest that Martin Koopman is likely to be sacked with the club already in talks with coaches.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will be hosted by Bibiani Gold Stars in the matchday seven games at DUN's Park this weekend.
