Hearts of Oak can still win the league despite Kotoko defeat - NCC leader

Hearts of Oak National Chapters Committee (NCC) leader Elvis Hesse Herman Junior is confident his outfit can still win the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League title despite losing to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on match day six on Sunday.

The Phobians failed to build on their impressive results over the last few games as they suffered a 2-1 loss to the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports stadium.

Justice Blay gave the visitors the lead with a fine header in the 11th minute of the game but in-form striker Joseph Esso levelled for the home side in the 64th minute.

However, a late penalty by Naby Keita condemned the Phobians to their 2nd home defeat of the season.

Speaking after the game, Hearts NCC leader said, "Not at all, if we say we will win the league unless of course, we lose focus on the fact that we are playing over 30 matches. We can still win the league, we can also come and pick the 3 points in Kumasi easily".

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they face Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dream on Sunday.
