Heart of Oak coach Edward Nii Odoom has expressed his satisfaction with his side's performance in their 2-1 defeat to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on match day six of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak suffered a slim loss at the Accra Sports Stadium despite dominating play for most parts of the game at home.

Justice Blay gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead with a fine header in the 11th minute of the game.

After the recess, the Phobians improved immensely and equalised courtesy in-form striker Joseph Esso's strike in the 64th minute.

However, a late penalty by Naby Keita condemned the Phobians to their 2nd home defeat of the season.

Speaking to the media after the game, the interim coach commended the performance of the players and also insisted the team is on the right direction.

"Nothing went wrong for us, my boys played very well. You could see how we were dictating the pace of the game, he said.

"But lack of communication a bit went wrong for us. But it was a good performance. If I watch what the team is doing from were are coming from I think it’s perfect."

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they face Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dream on Sunday.
