Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman trusting young squad to overcome tough start to league season

The head coach of Hearts of Oak, Martin Koopman says he is not worried about the team’s poor start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Following a very slow start to the new campaign, the Phobians are just one point away from dropping into the relegation zone.

In the four matches played so far, Hearts of Oak have just one win. The team has lost two of the other three with the other match ending in a draw.

Speaking in an interview after the weekend’s goalless draw with Dreams FC, Coach Martin Koopman said he is not worried.

According to him, he is confident his young squad will overcome their troubles for things to get better.

"I am very proud of my team. No, I am not worried. I am not worried. This is football, and if you see the young team we have and what happened in preseason, we did a very good job…we missed a striker,” Coach Martin Koopman said.

In the next round of the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak will take on Heart of Lions.
