Published on: 19 June 2023

Hearts of Oak is set to launch an inquiry into allegations of bribery surrounding the team during the concluded 2022/23 season, per Ghanasoccernet.

The Board of Directors of Hearts of Oak has established an investigative committee to investigate the veracity of these claims, which have raised concerns about the integrity of the game.

The allegations stem from suspicions that several players from Hearts of Oak participated in a manipulated match during the previous season, compromising the fairness and spirit of the sport.

In response to these serious allegations, the Board of Directors has taken decisive action to address the issue.

Sources close to the matter have revealed that the committee's inaugural meeting is scheduled to be held on Monday on the 14th floor of the World Trade Centre in Accra.

The committee, composed of esteemed individuals, aims to summon both witnesses and suspects to provide their testimonies regarding the alleged bribery scandal.

Hearts of Oak finished 12th place with 46 points in the Ghana Premier League and needed a point on the final day to escape relegation.

The team's underwhelming performance has resulted in dissatisfaction among team members and supporters alike.

The investigative committee, led by two prominent Board Members, Justice Ivy Heward Mills and Dr Nyaho Tama, will be supported by a senior official from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and two legal professionals.
