Hearts of Oak defender, Caleb Amankwah is expected to undergo a knee surgery, Footballghana.com understands.

The former WAFA right-back who joined the Phobians prior to the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League did not feature in their Africa games.

With two matches played in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign, Amankwah is yet to make an appearance for the club.

Caleb Amankwah according to multiple reports was playing through pains for the club last campaign.

However, he has been advise to have a surgery. He is expected to sit for the next six months according to the reports.

Hearts of Oak after two matches played are without a win under Samuel Boadu.

The Phobians were held to a 0-0 drawn game against Legon Cities and returned to Accra with a point against WAFA at the Red Bull Arena.
