Hearts of Oak did not impose players on ex-coach Samuel Boadu - Vincent Odotei

Published on: 18 October 2022

Board member of Hearts of Oak, Vincent Sowah Odotei has debunked rumours that the management of the club imposed players on Samuel Boadu during his time at the club.

In recent times, reports have emerged that the management of the Phobians has total control of the transfer activities as they are fond of imposing players on the coach, however, Sowah Odotei insisted that coach Boadu made the final decision on who to buy or bring on board.

Boadu and Hearts parted ways following a poor start to the season, having lost one and drawn two with the latest being the 1-1 stalemate against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium before the league was halted.

"Again we don't impose players on the coach, coach Boadu should come and tell us we are lying we have never done that before, He has free hands and He decides what He wants to do," Sowah Odotei told Accra based Hot FM.

Coach Boadu led the Accra-based side to their first league title two seasons ago. He also won back-to-back MTN FA Cups, Super Cup and the 2021 President’s Cup during his time at the club.
