Hearts of Oak combative midfielder Abdul Aziz Nurudeen is set to undergo surgery today after doctors working on him gave him the green light for his surgery to be conducted.
A confirmed medical report indicates that Nurudeen will undergo a thigh surgery at the Netcare Linksfield clinic in South Africa on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The pre -surgery formalities on the player were conducted on 27th September 2022.
The medical team to conduct the surgery will be led by experienced surgeon, Dr. McCready. The doctor who operated on both Lawali and Daniel Kodie.
He is expected to stay in South Africa for his recuperation after which he will return to Ghana to continue with his rehabilitation.
Ahead of the surgery, Nurudeen has expressed his happiness for the scheduled surgery.
"I am not happy to be sitting out of the games. That is what I am paid for. My desire is to always get onto the pitch and get the work done. But I also admit that injuries are a part of the game," he told the club's website.
"This is certainly good news for my career. Hopefully it will all go well and I will go through the process and get back stronger for my team and country."
Nurudeen added, "I need the prayers of all Phobians. To the leaders of the team, most especially the Board Chairman, I say a big thank you for making sure that this has happened.
"I am most grateful to all. I pray God gives me the strength to be back stronger than I was so I can contribute positively to this team” the player said.
"To my team mates, I want to assure them that I truly acknowledge their support and assure them that hopefully I will join them soon. To the teaming fans, I will say "I will be back to support my team to win more laurels."
Until his injury, Nurudeen was a key figure in Hearts’ squad and was expected to lead the defensive midfield role in Ghana’s CHAN team, the Black Galaxies.
