Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has set sights on winning the Ghana Prremier League title next season.

The 2020/21 football season is expected to kick start from Friday, November 13, 2020 at the various match venues.

Football has been on suspension since March 16, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, leading to the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season

The Phobians have not won any major silverware since winning the league in 2009, and Nettey is confident of clinching the league title with the club.

"The goal for the season is to win the Ghana Premier League title for the Phobian family," he said on Citi TV’s Football Made in Ghana.

"It is long overdue. We are a great club, and the biggest club in Ghana.

"I personally want to win the league to write my name in the history books of Accra Hearts of Oak," he added.

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 17th Address to the Nation on the update of the COVID-19 pandemic announced the lift of ban on contact sports, paving the way for the resumption of competitive football activities in Ghana.

Nettey has been a key cog of the team since joining them prior to the start of the truncated 2019/20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak, like many other clubs are yet to begin training.
