Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim is set to be ruled out of the 2021/22 season due to injury.

The 21-year-old sustained an ankle injury during the Phobians 1-1 draw against Karela United on match week 31 of the Ghana Premier League on Monday at the Accra Sports stadium.

He was stretched off the pitch as he could not continue playing for the defending Premier League champions.

Ibrahim, who joined Hearts from Techiman Eleven Wonders has had a rather difficult spell in the Ghanaian top-flight league due to several injuries he has suffered.

In January this year, he got injured in Hearts of Oak’s away game against Karela United at the CAM Park as he was sidelined for several weeks.

According to Hearts of Oak medical team, they will access him to know the extend of injury, however, it’s likely he’s ruled out for the rest of season.

Hearts have four games remaining including an outstanding game against Techiman Eleven Wonders.

Samuel Boadu's side are 4th on the table with 48 points after 30 matches played so far.
