Hearts of Oak midfielder, Salim Adams has expressed optimism in the chances of the team defeating Wydad AC this weekend.

The Ghana Premier League champions on Sunday will host the team from Morocco in the first of a scheduled two-legged encounter in the CAF Champions League playoffs.

Speaking to Phobianews.com, youngster Salim Adams says Hearts of Oak is expecting a normal game against the opponent and will fight to secure the needed win.

“We have confidence we can play like it’s a normal game. It’s important of course but in the end, our target is just one target: we need to win the game convincingly and go to Morocco with a good result,” Salim Adams said.

He added, “I’m enjoying life at Hearts, but the players make it easier and the coach also makes it easier for me. But as I said, results are the most important thing. I’m doing good and I feel good with the team and I’m trying to help the team always to get points.

“I try in every game to score, to do something different, but I’m happy about our performances and about what we have right now.”

The young midfielder joined Hearts of Oak from New Edubiase and has already proven he can be an important player for the side.

He is expected to feature in the Wydad AC showdown on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
