Hearts of Oak open contract extension talks with Salifu Ibrahim after Al Ta'awon interest

Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak are in discussions with midfielder Salifu Ibrahim over a contract extension.

The enterprising player has established himself as a key member of the club since his arrival. Having joined the club in February 2021, Ibrahim has played an essential role in their successes, including their Ghana Premier League title victory that season.

The 23-year-old currently has three months left on his contract and has already attracted interest from several clubs due to his swashbuckling performance.

To ward off interest from clubs, the leadership of Hearts of Oak have engaged representatives of the players as they seek to extend his contract.

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara is a huge admirer of the player and has charged the club to do everything possible to tie the player down.

Salifu Ibrahim has been impressive in the Ghana Premier League this season, earning four Man of the Match honours.

So far, in the current campaign, he has recorded one goal and eight assists in 19 appearances, highlighting his ability as a playmaker.

He has already attracted interest from several clubs including Libyan club Al Ta'awon. However, if contract extension talks hit a snag, the former Eleven Wonders marksman could depart as a free agent.
