Hearts of Oak have finally paid 2-months salary arrears of the playing body of the team, footballghana.com can report.

The issue of player salary has been big on the local scene following the suspension of the 2019/2020 football season for the past 3 months as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

While some clubs have resorted to pay cut for players and staff, others have insisted on paying players in full according to their contracts.

Hearts of Oak who continue to be in talks with players over a pay cut had not paid the salary of the playing body for the past two months until this week.

According to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Captain of the club Fatawu Mohammed has confirmed that the salary arrears have finally been cleared by the management of the team.

Meanwhile, it is understood that players from this month onwards will take home a salary of just 60% after agreeing to a 40% pay cut.
