President of New Edubiase, Abdul Salam Yakubu has indicated that he believes Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton should have given opportunities to some local players in his last call-up.

According to him, there are top players in the Ghana Premier League that deserved to get a call-up for the clash against Madagascar early this month.

Speaking to Asempa FM in an interview, Abdul Salam Yakubu said he is confident that there are players at Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, and Berekum Chelsea who should have been invited by Chris Hughton for the Round 5 match in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

He was quick to, however, add that there is no player at Hearts of Oak who is good enough to play for the Black Stars.

He insists that players at Hearts of Oak at the moment are not good enough.
