Hearts of Oak reacts to ‘April Fools day’ joke; insists Samuel Boadu has not been sacked

Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have released a statement stressing that head coach Samuel Boadu has not been sacked.

In the early hours of today, some rivals fans said the coach has been shown the exit door as part of an ‘April Fools day' joke.

Taking the joke seriously, Hearts of Oak have drafted a letter to rubbish the speculation.

“The attention of the Management of Accra Hearts of Oak has been drawn to a CONCOCTED and FAKE story making rounds that the club has parted ways with its head coach. The report should be ignored. The publishers of that story lack credibility and integrity,” a communique from the Phobians has said.

It adds, “We wish to take this opportunity to entreat everybody to cross-check their information with the club before going public.

“Let's show our support and be at the Accra sports stadium tomorrow at 3pm to support the team as we play Medeama.”
