Aziz Futah has stated that the management of Hearts of Oak should have gone for the coach who won the league or Asante Kotoko and not their deputy coach.
He slammed the management for not preparing well for the before and after of Samuel Boadu's departure. Futah said the chaotic nature of the aftermath of the sacking affected the team's performance against ASR Bamako.
According to reports, new assistant coach David Ocloo who was given the mandate to lead the team joined the squad a day after the Phobians touched down.
ASR Bamako defeated the Phobians 3-0 in the first leg.
"I have my reasons my reasons was before Boadu joined Hearts of Oak we had a coach preparing the team…Odoom, he prepared the team and Kosta Papic came. Papic came to also manage the team, he did play if my memory serves me right he didn’t play more than ten games and we brought in Boadu. When Boadu came the team was prepared already he was able to win the league, Super Cup, MTN FA Cup. So I was expecting that the season coming that he will prepare his own team in preseason and take on the season we all saw where we ended," he said on Happy FM as monitored by footballghana.com.
"Apart from that this season too he didn’t start well. So with Boadu I didn’t see a future of Hearts of Oak in Boadu. I made this statement on one tv station that since I know Togbe’s role in Hearts of Oak this is the time they have taken a good decision on Boadu. And with his replacement it means that the decision they took was lotto. They did not sit well and analyze the decision before they proceed to bring a replacement that will be better than the coach you sacked,"
