Hearts of Oak suffering because Slavko Matic terminated contracts of senior players - Kobby Jones

Kobby Jones, the PRO of Hearts of Oak's National Chapters Committee, has revealed the club is suffering because head coach Slavko Matic has sacked senior players.

According to him, the club's poor form is a result of Matic's decision to terminate the contracts of senior players, including Mohammed Alhassan, Fatawu Mohammed, and Junior Kaaba.

He alleges that Matic is not listening to the advice of Togbe Afede, the club's board chairman, and that the coach's actions have led to the team's poor performance.

Hearts of Oak suffered a painful 1-0 defeat to Great Olympics in week 19 of the GPL, and their next game is against their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.

However, the supporters are threatening to prevent the coach from holding training today, and are demanding his immediate removal.

"He has sacked the senior players and now the team is failing to perform. We will not allow that to happen," he said on Asempa FM.

"We don't need the services of [Slavko] Matic because we are even told that he doesn't listen to the board chairman[Togbe Afede]," he alleged.

"We know the management are in charge of the team but we will prevent the coach from holding training today," he added.
