Hearts of Oak warn supporters to desist from violent acts against under-fire coach Slavko Matic

Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have warned supporters of the club against committing acts of violence against coach Slavko Matic.

The Serbian trainer has come under intense following some poor run of results in the Ghana Premier League.

On Wednesday, the Phobians suffered a 1-0 defeat to rivals Great Olympics in week 19 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the Super Clash with Kotoko, the fans of the rainbow boys have raised concerns about Matic’s capabilities.

In a statement sighted by Footballghana.com, the leadership of Hearts of Oak have warned the fans to desist from violence actions against the coach.

“The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has taken notice of comments made in the media inciting supporters to stop the Head Coach Slavko Matic from performing his duties.

We kindly entreat All Phobians to desist from performing any acts of violence but to remain calm.

As a Club, the safety of all its employees remains paramount. We are law-abiding and will therefore not shield anyone who engages in any violent act against the spirit of the game

We urge all Phobians to rather channel their petitions and or grievances if any, through the management to the Board for redress.

Please calm down and rally behind the club as we prepare for Sunday's encounter and subsequently the remaining fixtures of the 2022-23 season” the statement reads.

Hearts of Oak will play host to Asante Kotoko in week 20 of the Ghana Premier League, which will also serve as the President Cup on Sunday.
