Asante Kotoko legend, Frimpong Manso has congratulated Hearts of Oak over the team’s win against his former club, after insisting that they displayed determination to win the game.

The Phobians on Sunday afternoon hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium to battle for points on matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

On the back of an exciting contest, a goal from winger Daniel Afriyie Barnieh powered Hearts of Oak to defeat Asante Kotoko by a lone goal.

Speaking to Silver FM today, coach Frimpong Manso says Hearts of Oak were deserved winners on the matchday.

“We have to commend Hearts for their win. The determination and their overall approach to the game proved they were coming in to win.

“For a long time, they’ve not been able to taste league title glory so looking at their faces alone revealed how determined they were. So all in all I think they’ve done well,” the former Kotoko player shared.

Courtesy of the win, Hearts of Oak are now three points clear at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.
