Hearts of Oak's new signings are based on technical reason - Kwame Opare Addo

Kwame Opare Addo, the Communications Director of Hearts of Oak has justified the players that have joined the club in the ongoing summer transfer window.

As part of their plans to strengthen the squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak have signed Michael Ampadu, Liventius Attur, Evans Adomako, Martin Karikari, Raphael Amponsah and Kelvin Osei Asibey.

However, the leadership of the club have been criticised for signing players without a substantive head coach.

But Opare Addo says they recruited the players based on technical reasons.

“Our transfer this season as a club has been on technical reasons, even before the arrival of our technical team,” he told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.

He was also mute on whether there would be new additions before the transfer window shit down.

“It will depend on our technical team whether we will make some transfer additions."

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have confirmed Dutch trainer Martin Koopman as the new head coach on a two-year deal.

Hearts of Oak will open their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League with an away game against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
