Heated contract dispute between Salifu Ibrahim and Accra Hearts of Oak escalates

Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim has been dismissed from the club's training camp due to an ongoing contract disagreement between the player and the club.

Salifu Ibrahim's agent, Benedict Asiedu, has accused the club of mistreating his client following a stalemate in their contract negotiations. In an interview with Kumasi-based radio station, Kessben FM, Asiedu claimed that the club's mistreatment stemmed from Ibrahim's refusal to accept a new deal.

“The issue revolves around a contract extension. We couldn’t reach an agreement because the player is upset about certain matters,” Asiedu stated.

Asiedu alleged that Hearts of Oak attempted to sell Ibrahim to Nsoatreman FC without his knowledge or consent, and that the club had been sidelining him without cause. He also claimed that two Hearts of Oak board members, Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Odotei Sowah, were behind the player's mistreatment.

“Only Akambi and Odotei can explain why they were doing that,” Asiedu said.

However, Alhaji Akambi swiftly denied these allegations. He stated that the coach had informed him of Ibrahim's dismissal from the training camp, and questioned why he and Odotei would be involved in the matter.

“The coach called me on the phone to tell me that he sacked some players including Salifu Ibrahim, that’s what he told me. So when he has been told to go, what has that got to do with me and Odotei?,” Akambi said.

The situation between Hearts of Oak and Salifu Ibrahim remains unresolved, with both parties maintaining their positions.
