West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has showered praises on English-born Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante after scoring in their 2-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

The 23-year-old put up an impressive display to help the Baggies cruise to a comfortable victory and climb out of the relegation zone and into 21st place in the table, above Wigan on goal difference at The Hawthorns.

Bartley opened the scoring for West Brom in the 39th minute before Thomas-Asante sealed the win for Albion with a spectacular overhead kick to earn Corberan's side all three points.

“Brandon is a player that when good things happen to him, you are going to be happy for him. He has worked very hard to be here, moving from League Two," he told WBA TV.

"He’s hard-working, has a great mentality and he's showing that he can help the team a lot on the pitch.

Thomas-Asante has scored three goals in 12 appearances in the English Championship for West Brom Albion.
