Niger put up a resilient performance on Monday evening to hold the Black Stars of Ghana to a 1-1 draw in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The game played in Morocco is the second game for the two national teams in Group F.

With the stage at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, Alidu Seidu put the four-time African champions ahead in the 44th minute to end the first half 1-0.

However, after recess and with 10 minutes to go, Oumar Sako levelled the score for the Mena after a scramble in the Black Stars box. Niger, following their equaliser, held on to ensure the game ended 1-1.

The results leave Black Stars at the 3rd spot in Group F with just a point after two games played.

Ghana will now search for their first win when they come up against Sudan in a doubleheader in October in the Matchday three and four games.
