Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed the club have completed deals for Jaroslaw Jach and Erdal Rakip.

Poland international defender Jach arrives from Zagłębie Lubin, while midfielder Rakip moves to Selhurst Park on loan from Benfica.

Hodgson said: "Jaroslaw, yes, he's one we've been following for a while, he's come over and had his medical and I'm hoping he'll sign for us, that's one piece of good news for me.

"There's a loan of a Swedish midfield player from Benfica.

"One's 23, and the other boy Erdal Rakip is only 21, so we're trying to invest a bit in the future too.

"We believe when everybody's fit we do have quite a good squad of players, it's not necessarily trying to replace the squad I've got, but cover."
