The Palace supporters were in fine voice at the national stadium, despite seeing their side fall to a 1-0 defeat against Spurs, courtesy of a second half strike from Heung-Min Son.

Hodgson said: "There is not a lot I can accuse my players of today.

"The fans were behind us all the way and they made more noise than a damn sight more Tottenham fans here today.

"But I am still talking here and I am a loser at Wembley. It didn't happen to me too often in the four years I was coming here on a regular basis."
