How can you go to Africa without appointing a new head coach after sacking Samuel Boadu – Fred Pappoe slams Hearts of Oak

A former chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe has blasted Hearts of Oak over the unconventional ways of running the club.

In an interview with Akoma FM, the veteran football administrator questioned how the Phobians decided to start their campaign in Africa without appointing a new head coach to replace coach Samuel Boadu.

“The most prominent reason why our clubs especially Kotoko and Hearts fail in the African club competitions is that the team that qualifies them for Africa is mostly dismantled by the clubs themselves before the start of the competition.

“Typical example is what Hearts did. You can't sack Samuel Boadu with a week to Africa without appointing a new head coach, who does that?

“Kotoko also sold most of their players and when you do that, definitely you will be kicked out,” Fred Pappoe shared.

According to him, the two biggest clubs in the country should be blamed and not the Ghana FA over the disappointing displays in Africa.

After suffering a 3-0 defeat to AS Bamako last weekend, Hearts of Oak are now preparing for the reverse fixture to be staged in Accra on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
