Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has stated that he is happy with the overall strength of his current squad.

Despite starting with a second string side, Bournemouth put in a very strong display in the 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in the EFL Cup quarter finals at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night

And manager Eddie Howe has stated that the promising display is a testament to the Cherries' overall strength.

Howe said: "I think it's further evidence our squad is very well balanced and the players are of a similar standard. When we make seven changes, I think it's different to other teams.

"The players who came in impressed. I was really pleased with them and I think that's a great thing for the squad, especially with the injuries we have, as we know we have players we can rely on. It will lift them to know we can compete."
